A Healthy Brain as You Age

A study has shown that a healthy adult loses about 15 percent of brain tissue between between the ages of thirty and ninety. Raz, N., et al.(2004). It has been found that age related decline caused by shrinkage or death of brain cells or changes in the blood supply to the brain can be slowed down with exercise - especially aerobic exercise during early and mid life. In fact, studies have found that people who exercised had more brain volume in the areas that are affected by age related brain atrophy.

So, if you are not already hitting the gym, it is never too late to start. I know some do not like the gym environment, and I am one of them - but do not let that stop you. You can start by making up an at home workout schedule and looking up some exercise videos on YouTube - there are many amazing videos of aerobic and even yoga sessions on YouTube. Below, I have posted links to my favourite exercise videos for you.
