What's in a Cherry: A Natural Migraine Cure and Much More

Being a migraine sufferer, I have tried everything from meditation, taking magnesium supplements, to going under chiropractic care.  Yes, all these have definitely helped me, but I find they work more as preventative measures-which is great- but what about when you are suffering a full blown, pounding, migraine?  That's when cherries come in.

Cherries have compounds in them that help reduce inflammation in our bodies. These compounds, termed anthocyanin and bioflanoid work in the same way in our bodies as ibuprofen or aspirin would - of course without their potential negative side effects.

Cherries can also help improve sleep by increasing the levels of melatonin, which regulates sleep cycles in our bodies. Additionally, the high anti-oxidant content of cherries can help us fight premature aging and even prevent cancer and other diseases.  What's more, cherries can also provide pain relief from arthritis and gout.
